Just finished four modified Sandhill Slings. After making my first one true to the pattern, I decided to change the zipper placement, which in turn changed the front pocket orientation. This way, when you wear it over your shoulder it’s much easier to unzip and get inside without taking off the sling.

Since the recipients of these bags live in Seattle, I chose waterproof Ottertex outer fabric and cotton linings. I left off the interior pocket as with this orientation it just seemed unnecessary (and I’m lazy). Zippers are from Wawak. I used a variety of strapping – seat belt and striped cotton webbing.
