A little gift for a friend battling cancer. I used the 4″ Ohio Star foundation paper pieced template from Rosie Taylor Crafts.
And lesson learned, when I make this again, use the 5″ template (or 6″) as the 4″ template is just a bit small for my large coffee mugs.
I quilted the top with one layer of white batting from my stash using Aurifil 50wt thread. Then sewed the backing on leaving a hole for turning.
I put the coaster as well as a mug and herbal tea in the kid’s Target basket – perfect for gifting!
