I needed to test out a bag pattern for my sister and also need more time working with leather, so I made an all leather Charlotte crossbody.

I got a Japanese skiving knife for Christmas, but I think the learning curve is steep! I may have to go see the codgers at Tandy Leather to get some tips as I don’t think I actually took much thickness off which gave me a bit of trouble on the final topstitching.

I used some of my favorite Tokidoki for the lining.

I changed the straps on this bag to be more like the Dianne Crossbody, using ¾” leather with a buckle. I also used a ¾” strap round edge by Weaver Leather to get those nice curved edges. The flesh side of the straps was a bit fleshy, lol, but some Tokonole took care of that.

I sewed the lining portion on my Juki TL-2010Q and used my industrial Juki 1541S for the exterior.
