My kiddo has been wanting a vintage sheet quilt for as long as I’ve been collecting sheets. Figured I should get this started and done prior to us moving next summer. I wanted something simple so I came up with this alternating 4-patch.
As much as I love the thrill of the hunt, I didn’t actually have that many different sheets so this isn’t as scrappy as some vintage quilts I’ve seen. My brain needs order and symmetry so I planned out a design to use repeating fabrics – certainly made pulling this together much faster than my normal fussy-cut patchwork.
Since vintage sheets are prone to fraying I used a ⅜” seam allowance throughout. The 4-patch blocks were cut larger than needed and trimmed down to size.
Since my kiddo and I like to thrift, I couldn’t resist the Goodwill label 😂. I love a striped binding!
Finished size roughly 59″ x 59″.
