Finished this quilt in the nick of time to take to a college friend in Michigan next week. I didn’t use a pattern – just nine patch blocks and sawtooth stars moved around until I liked the arrangement.

Everything but the backing was pulled from my stash – big thanks to my mom for contributing some of the dark blue scraps! The white is Kona White.

Backing is Glasshouse Windows Blue by Emily Taylor Design for FIGO Fabrics. It’s perfect for my Architectural Engineering professor friend!

This was quilted on my Juki TL-2010Q with Aurifil 50wt thread. And for the first time I machine stitched the binding which I will be doing from now on as it’s a) way easier than I thought and b) will hold up better than hand stitching.
I’m looking forward to the cooler temperatures in Michigan and lots of antiquing!!
